About the Job


As a Sales Engineer in Food Ingredients, you will play a key role in expanding REDA Chemicals’ footprint in the Ghanaian food processing market. You will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing strong customer and supplier relationships, and promoting REDA’s food ingredient portfolio across key food industry segments.


The ideal candidate combines a strong technical background in Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline with practical exposure to the food industry. Experience in R&D, Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), or technical sales within the food ingredients sector will be highly valued. The successful candidate will be capable of identifying market opportunities, supporting customers with technical solutions, and contributing to sustainable business growth.


Responsibilities


  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for REDA Chemicals’ Food Ingredients portfolio in Ghana.
  • Drive sales and business development activities across key food segments, including dairy, bakery, confectionery, beverages, savoury, and other food applications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively developing new business within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Collaborate closely with strategic suppliers and REDA’s internal Sourcing and Technical Teams to expand the product portfolio and achieve sales and profit targets.
  • Support customers by understanding their formulations, production challenges, and product development needs, and propose suitable ingredient solutions.
  • Provide technical support and product recommendations to customers where required.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing developments, and industry regulations affecting the food sector.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure product availability and timely deliveries.
  • Manage customer orders and follow up on order fulfilment to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales documentation, and administrative reports in line with company procedures.
  • Submit regular sales, pipeline, and market intelligence reports to management.
  • Develop and execute a structured business plan to grow REDA Chemicals’ Food Ingredients business in Ghana.
  • Implement effective credit control and collection practices to support healthy receivables management.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in Research & Development (R&D), Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA) within the food manufacturing industry, or sales and business development of food ingredients.
  • Good understanding of food applications, ingredient functionality, and product development processes.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organisational, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel within Ghana and, when required, across the region and internationally.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to continuously learn and develop professionally.
