Job summary

The Practice Lead, Corporate Support Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the Corporate Support Services Practice Area. This involves the delivery of comprehensive corporate support, spanning finance, administration, and support services to the Firm to drive the firm's operational excellence and competitive positioning in the industry. Working collaboratively with the Board, Consulting Leadership, and key stakeholders, the Practice Lead will shape operational strategies and ensure all corporate support functions are delivered with efficiency, integrity, and in alignment with the Firm’s strategic objectives. The Practice Lead will ensure that the Firm's corporate support operations remain financially sound, administratively efficient, and compliant with relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards through the development and enforcement of effective policies and procedures. The role is structured around Finance Operations, Administration Operations, Support Services, Business/Consulting Development Support, and Practice Team/Organisational Development related functions.

Key Responsibilities:


Finance Operations

The Finance Operations role of the Practice Lead, Corporate Support Services include;

  • Provide oversight and leadership for all financial reporting functions, including invoicing, receipting, bank payments, and statement reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support informed decision-making and the Firm’s short and long-term strategic planning.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all Practice Areas and the Firm as a whole, providing actionable insights to the Executive Leadership to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee the preparation of payroll and statutory tax returns, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulatory and statutory obligations.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors/accounting consultants to facilitate the timely preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
  • Provide technical advisory on prudent investment opportunities and maintain oversight of the Firm’s investment portfolio to optimise returns.
  • Drive effective cash flow management, cost control initiatives, and financial planning to ensure the Firm’s long-term financial sustainability.
  • Coordinate statutory filings and ensure regulatory compliance in collaboration with other Practice Leads, maintaining the Firm’s obligations to all relevant statutory and regulatory bodies.


Administration Operations

The Administration Operations role of the Practice Lead, Corporate Support Services include;

  • Oversee the provision and management of organisational resources, including office supplies, equipment, and consumables, ensuring adequate availability to support the Firm’s day-to-day operations.
  • Lead the Firm’s procurement functions, ensuring all procurement activities are conducted transparently, efficiently, and in accordance with the Firm’s procurement policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts including vendor selection, performance monitoring, and contract renewals to ensure the Firm receives optimal value from its service providers.
  • Oversee the Firm’s logistics functions, including meeting and event coordination as well as travel arrangements, catering, ensuring seamless execution, cost-effectiveness, and consistent professional experience for staff, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee correspondence management and the Firm’s registry, ensuring efficient record-keeping and timely distribution of correspondence.


Support Services

The Support Services role of the Practice Lead, Corporate Support Services include;

  • Provide oversight for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and management of the Firm’s office complex, ensuring a safe, functional and well-maintained working environment at all times.
  • Oversee the timely execution of maintenance and repair works across facilities, equipment, and infrastructure, minimising downtime and ensuring operational continuity.
  • Oversee the effective management of daily facility operations, including utilities management, in a cost-efficient and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Source, contract and manage vendors for facilities-related services, ensuring quality delivery, value for money, and adherence to agreed service standards.
  • Manage the facilities budget effectively, tracking expenditure against allocations and proactively identifying areas for cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that repairs and servicing of official vehicles are carried out promptly by qualified mechanics and repairers in accordance with the Firm’s Vehicle Usage Policy.
  • Oversee the timely registration, roadworthiness certification, and insurance renewal of all official vehicles in compliance with statutory requirements and organisational schedules.
  • Provide oversight for Command Centre operations and Guest Services management, and work closely with the Firm’s Security Coordinator to ensure appropriate access controls, visitor management protocols and a professional impression for guests, clients and stakeholders.


Business/Consulting Development Support

The Business/Consulting Development Support role of the Practice Lead, Corporate Support Services include;

  • Business development and revenue growth responsibilities including opportunity identification and lead generation as well as responsibilities over revenue generation of a Business Cluster.
  • Proposal, bidding & commercial support including inputs into RFP/RFQ response, business proposal and presentation development, pricing and commercial documentation support as well as contracting and procurement process support.
  • Consulting & project delivery support including support with consulting engagements, workshop and stakeholder meetings support as well as support with respect to resource and operational coordination for projects and consulting engagements/deliverables.
  • Knowledge management and consulting engagement, including thought leadership and consulting contents development, participation in event, conferences, etc. in support of the business and consulting development of the Firm.
  • Clients and stakeholder relationship management responsibilities, including supporting the development and maintenance of strategic client and stakeholder relationships, monitoring clients’ satisfaction and supporting partnership development, among others.


Practice Team/Organisational Development & Practice Area Risk Responsibilities

The Practice Team/Organisational Development & Practice Area Risk Responsibilities role of the Lead, Corporate Support Services includes:

  • Oversee the growth and professional development of the practice team, ensuring a fit for purpose team to deliver the Corporate Support mandate of the Firm.
  • Liaise with the Lead, People & Culture to identify and deliver training programmes to enhance the team’s expertise and maintain industry best practices.
  • Improve operational efficiency by refining workflows, methodologies, improving teamwork and collaborations as well as best practices to deliver quality tasks/projects in a timely manner.
  • Support and contribute to the Firm’s organisational development initiatives and to promote collaboration between internal teams and external partners to strengthen organisational effectiveness for business growth.
  • Responsible for the operational risk management for the Corporate Support Services Practice Area, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and reputational risk management in all consulting engagements and interactions with staff, clients, partners, and stakeholders.


Job Requirements

  • A postgraduate degree (MBA or equivalent) in Accounting/Finance/Banking/Human Resource Management/Corporate Governance, or a related administration discipline, with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience, at least six (6) of which must have been in a supervisory or consulting role.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA) will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrable competence in financial accounting, reporting, and administration, with a strong understanding of statutory compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in professional services consulting is recommended.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiation and interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with internal teams, clients, vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify operational and financial challenges, assess risks, and develop practical, timely solutions.
  • High level of initiative and results-orientation, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in relevant business and financial management tools and systems, with an aptitude for leveraging technology to improve operational efficiency.
