Company Description AfCFTA Youth & Campus Connect is an initiative focused on engaging young people and academic communities with the opportunities and objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The program promotes awareness, dialogue, and skills development related to trade, entrepreneurship, and regional integration across the African continent. Through events, workshops, and campus-based activities, AfCFTA Youth & Campus Connect encourages youth participation in shaping Africa’s economic future. Volunteers contribute to creating inclusive spaces where students and young professionals can learn, network, and develop practical solutions to regional challenges.
Role Description This is an on-site volunteer role based in Koforidua. The Volunteer will support the planning and delivery of youth and campus events, including workshops, information sessions, and outreach activities related to AfCFTA. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with event logistics, engaging participants, helping with registration and feedback collection, and supporting communication efforts such as distributing materials and sharing updates on campus. The Volunteer will collaborate with team members, local partners, and student groups to ensure smooth coordination of activities and a positive experience for all participants. The role may also involve basic administrative support, documenting activities, and contributing ideas to improve youth engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and community members.
- Strong interest in youth development, education, entrepreneurship, or African economic integration.
- Organizational and time-management skills to support events and activities on campus.
- Capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
- Basic familiarity with AfCFTA, international trade, or public policy is an advantage but not required.
- Availability to be physically present in Koforidua for scheduled activities and meetings.
- Previous volunteer or community engagement experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
