Job summary
As part of developing a solution for a client in Lomé, Togo, a company based in Accra, Ghana, is looking for someone to be the permanent link between the business departments in the field and the development team, so that every feature is built once, from requirements the business has agreed on, and goes live on time.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities
Understand and translate
- Understand the business processes and the solution technology well enough to judge what is feasible.
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable items for the developers (user stories with acceptance criteria).
- Write clear requirement documents in French, with diagrams where needed (Miro board or others), and get them signed by the business before development starts.
Drive the business side
- Follow up with each department regularly, on site.
- Lead the project team's field visits, about every 3 weeks, and write a visit report after each one.
- Proactively follow up with business colleagues to obtain input, reviews and sign-offs on time.
- Set boundaries to keep the agreed scope; send every change request back through step 1 of the process (alignment of business requirements).
- Propose the order of features to management, with business impact and dependencies; management decides.
- Escalate to management when a decision, input or sign-off is blocked for more than 5 working days.
Drive delivery
- Act as gatekeeper for "ready for development" a feature goes to developers only when its document is signed and its user stories and acceptance criteria are in the GitHub Kanban. Requests that skip step 1 are not passed on. Exceptions are decided by the project lead; management supports this rule.
- Prepare and get sign-off on the next feature while the current one is in development, so development never waits for documentation.
- Follow up on development progress against the tracking tools (tracker, dashboard, GitHub Kanban).
- Coordinate testing: prepare test cases from the acceptance criteria, run/support functional tests and user acceptance tests (UAT) once developers have tested their code, track defects, and obtain written business approval.
- Prepare go-live with the department: user training, short user guides in French, first- week support.
- Keep the requirements tracker up to date and report status weekly.
Deliverables
- Signed requirement document per feature (in French), with diagrams where needed
- User stories and acceptance criteria in the GitHub Kanban
- Test cases and UAT sign-off per feature
- Up-to-date tracker and a weekly status note

How success is measured
- Share of features that start development with a signed document (target: 100 %)
- Number of features reworked after UAT sign-off, excluding new requests (target: falling month on month)
- Features live per month (target: increasing month on month)
- Time to go-live per feature (target: 4–6 weeks)
- UAT completed on the planned date (target: ≥ 80 %)
