Chief Technology Officer

Role Summary:

Seynox-Grid Africa is building an AI-native Financial Crime Operating System for mobile money and banking rails across Africa. The Founding CTO leads the platform's technical architecture and owns the technical execution of Seynox-Grid's early-stage partnership discussions — most immediately, an in-progress National Fraud Exchange design-partnership evaluation with a leading Ghanaian mobile money operator, not yet finalized.



This is a founding-stage role, not a conventional executive hire.

Seynox-Grid has not yet closed its pre-seed funding round and currently holds zero operating capital. This role begins on a part-time or fractional, equity-only basis — no cash compensation of any kind is available until a funding or partnership milestone is met — converting to full-time, paid terms only at that point. Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the technical relationship with prospective design partners throughout structured evaluation phases — acting as the direct technical counterpart in feedback sessions with partner Regulatory Risk, Financial Crimes, and AML/CFT leads.

• Lead the training and refinement of the platform's fraud-detection models based on partner input gathered during the evaluation period — this is where the platform's proof-of-concept models mature into production-ready systems.

• Responsible for the platform's technical architecture across all 21 modules and set engineering roadmap priorities.

• Represent technical readiness in regulatory conversations — including technical components of the Bank of Ghana's PFTSP license application and Cyber Security Authority registration.

• Responsible for the technical due diligence and act as liaison between Seynox-Grid and prospective design partners as new evaluations begin.

• Lead and direct the engineering team as funding closes and headcount is approved.

Required Qualifications

Degree

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field (required). A Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, or Data Science is strongly preferred, given the platform's AI-native architecture.

Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) — required. The platform's primary infrastructure runs on AWS af-south-1, and this certification is directly relevant to the architecture being maintained and scaled.

• AWS Certified Machine Learning — Specialty — preferred, given direct ownership of model training during active partner evaluation phases.

• A recognized cloud security certification — e.g., AWS Certified Security — Specialty, or CISSP — preferred, given the platform's fraud-detection and security-adjacent domain.

Experience

• Senior engineering leadership experience, ideally including prior CTO, VP Engineering, or Head of Engineering responsibility.

• Direct experience in fintech, fraud detection, or applied machine learning systems — experience with financial services in Ghana or West Africa is a strong advantage.

• Comfort operating in a pre-funding, high-ambiguity environment, including direct engagement with enterprise partners and regulators.

Compensation Structure

Equity-only compensation during Phase 1 — no cash, stipend, or salary of any kind until the funding or partnership milestone described below is met. The Company holds zero capital ahead of its pre-seed round closing, and this role is engaged on that basis from the outset, not as a temporary gap before paid terms begin.
