Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret approved drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Supervise and monitor construction activities.
• Ensure workmanship conforms to required technical and quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and technical measurements.
• Coordinate artisans, foremen and subcontractors as assigned.
• Monitor labour deployment and site productivity.
• Monitor material utilization and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Verify incoming materials against required specifications.
• Participate in daily site briefings and planning activities.
• Maintain accurate site records.
• Prepare daily, weekly and other required progress reports.
• Identify construction defects and support corrective actions.
• Ensure work is ready for required inspections before subsequent activities proceed.
• Support QA/QC procedures and inspection hold points.
• Monitor compliance with site safety requirements and PPE usage.
• Coordinate technical matters with Project Managers, Architects, Quantity Surveyors and
• Procurement.
• Escalate technical risks, delays and construction challenges promptly.
• Support snagging, handover and defects rectification.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Relevant practical construction/site experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials and quality-control practices.
• Good technical reporting and documentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving capability.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering/project software is an advantage.
