Role Description

The Factory / Furniture Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Tema, responsible for overseeing end-to-end production operations for bespoke furniture projects. This role includes planning and scheduling production, coordinating workflows, and managing factory staff to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. The Manager will monitor material usage, maintain equipment and workspaces, and enforce health, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing/Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical/Automation Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
• Approximately 5–10 years of relevant manufacturing/production experience, with meaningful responsibility for production operations.
• Demonstrated experience supervising production personnel and machinery.
• Practical understanding of preventive maintenance and machine troubleshooting.
• Experience with production planning, workflow management and quality control.
• Strong understanding of occupational health and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals and production specifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with equipment suppliers and technical specialists during installation and commissioning.
• Ensure that machine operating requirements, utilities, safety provisions and working clearances are properly implemented.
• Plan and manage daily, weekly and monthly production.
• Translate project requirements, drawings and production schedules into executable factory work plans.
• Allocate machines, manpower and materials to production activities.
• Establish quality-control checkpoints throughout the production process.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and conformity with approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor cutting accuracy, edging quality, assembly tolerances and surface/finish quality.
• Assist management/HR in recruiting machine operators, technicians, production supervisors and other factory personnel.
• Supervise, coach and develop the production team.
• Establish clear responsibilities, shift/work schedules and performance expectations.
• Candidates who have experience in Furniture or joinery manufacturing /Wood-based panel processing would have a strong Advantage
