Safety Officer(manufacturing Industry)

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections across the detergent production plant and identify potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable HSE regulations.
• Monitor the proper use of PPE and enforce safety requirements among employees and contractors.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
• Manage safety procedures for chemicals, machinery, electrical systems, and other hazardous operations.
• Organize safety training, toolbox meetings, and emergency drills for employees.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor fire safety equipment, emergency exits, first-aid facilities, and emergency response procedures.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, and other HSE documentation.
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuously improve workplace safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant HSE/Safety experience, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment.
• Knowledge of chemical safety, machine safety, fire safety, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
• Familiarity with applicable Ghanaian occupational health and safety requirements.
• Relevant HSE certification such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Good communication, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and enforce safety rules effectively.
• Willingness to work in a factory/production environment and on shifts when required.
