Job summary
The Logistics Assistant supports BAT Ghana’s end-to-end logistics operations by assisting with outbound and inbound process, warehousing, inventory control, and operational reporting. The role provides day-to-day support to the Logistics Manager and works closely with third-party logistics providers, distributors and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, timely and cost-effective product flow.

Key Responsibilities
Outbound Distribution
- Assist distribution process and track deliveries to distributors
- Complete outbound deliveries in SAP
- Track proof of delivery, returns and outstanding order and share same with LM
Inbound
- Support the supervision of shipment receipt from port and follow up on reception for GRN.
- Maintain accurate records to fulfil audit- requirement.
- Track clearance timelines and escalate delay or demurrage risks.
Stock Ageing and Product Freshness
- Weekly tracking and reporting on stock- ageing and SOH
- Support FEFO/FIFO, stock rotation and depletion plans.
- Escalate ageing, short-dated or at-risk stock.
Inventory Control
- Support stock counts activities and reconciliation.
- Report stock variances, damages and unaccounted movements.
- Maintain accurate stock, pallet and capacity records.
Warehouse, Quality and EHS Compliance
- Conduct routine warehouse quality, safety and condition checks.
- Maintain inspection, temperature and pest- control records.
- Escalate exceptions and support compliance with BAT standards.
Reporting and Stakeholder Support
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly and monthly logistics reports and update agreed performance trackers.
- Participate in review meetings and complete other logistics duties assigned by LM.
Role Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Relevant experience in logistics, warehousing, inventory control or distribution operations.
- Working knowledge of inbound and outbound logistics processes, stock management and proof-of-delivery tracking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; experience with SAP or a similar ERP system is desirable.
- Strong analytical, record-keeping and reporting skills, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with third-party logistics providers, distributors and internal teams.
- Minimum of 2yrs post national service experience
- Understanding of warehouse safety, quality, environmental, health and compliance requirements.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, escalate operational risks promptly and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- High level of integrity, accountability and commitment to safe and compliant operations.
