Cloud Engineer

Description

To support the management of cloud infrastructure and services by providing technical assistance, maintaining automated scripts, monitoring cloud resources, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient cloud operations.Assist in deployments and management of AWS cloud infrastructure.Monitor the health, performance and cost of AWS cloud services and report on utilisation.Perform scheduled maintenance tasks including managing backups, setting up of basic cron jobs.Document troubleshooting steps to enhance knowledge sharing within the team.Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for cloud-related issue and log incidents, gathering relevant information and escalating to the right resource.Contribute to deployment and management of docker imagesMonitor cloud systems for performance, availability, and security.Support automation of cloud operations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.Maintain documentation for cloud configurations, procedures, and standards.Stay updated with cloud technology trends and recommend improvements.Identify and utilise opportunities to assess and improve own performance.Contribute to teamwork and inclusivity within own team.

You will be an ideal candidate if you have:

Minimum: Bachelor of Science in computer Science, Information Technology

Preferred: Relevant Degree or Industry certifications in Devops, Cloud or Systems Engineering e.g. AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Google Clod Certified – Associate Cloud Engineer.

1+ years in cloud engineering
