Automotive Electrician & Mechanic (Auto Technician)

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering, and exhaust systems
• Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotation, fluid checks, and filter replacements
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical components
• Conduct comprehensive vehicle safety and performance inspections
• Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs have been properly completed
• Maintain accurate service records and job documentation

Electrical Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical faults using scan tools and advanced diagnostic equipment
• Repair and maintain wiring systems, sensors, relays, alternators, and starter motors
• Install and repair vehicle lighting systems
• Troubleshoot battery, ignition, and charging systems
• Diagnose and repair electronic control modules (ECM/ECU)
• Install vehicle accessories such as alarms, sound systems, trackers, reverse cameras, and other electronic devices
• Interpret and work from electrical wiring diagrams and schematics

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Technology or a related field
• Proven experience as both a mechanic and auto electrician
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and repair procedures
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams
• Hands-on experience using diagnostic scanners and workshop repair tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
