Role Description
This full-time on-site role is based in Accra for a Mining Sales Engineer. The Mining Sales Engineer is responsible for identifying and engaging with potential clients, understanding their specific mining equipment and service needs, and offering tailored solutions. The role involves preparing proposals, managing the sales process, nurturing client relationships, and collaborating with the technical team to ensure client satisfaction. The Mining Sales Engineer will participate in market research to identify new opportunities, attend industry events, and provide product and service support to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with mining operators, EPC/EPCM contractors, OEMs, and system integrators
- Identify opportunities across greenfield, brownfield, and sustaining capital projects
- Manage the full sales cycle from technical clarification and tendering to negotiation and post-sale support
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and deliver on annual revenue targets
Technical Solution Support
- Provide expertise on MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, drives, motors, transformers, and automation systems
- Support customized solutions tailored to mining specifications and safety requirements
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to client teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 5–8 years’ experience in mining electrical sales or industrial automation
- Proven record of achieving USD 500,000+ annual sales revenue
- Strong understanding of mining safety, reliability, and compliance standards
- Excellent negotiation and consultative selling skills
