FRENCH TUTOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and professional French Tutor to provide personalized French instruction to students in a private home learning environment in Accra. The role involves teaching children and supporting their French language development through engaging, structured, and effective lessons.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering structured and engaging French lessons, supporting the students’ development across speaking, listening, reading, and writing, and adapting lessons according to their individual levels, progress, and learning needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and deliver structured French lessons based on the students’ learning levels and objectives.

• Teach French language skills including speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

• Develop engaging lessons, exercises, assignments, and activities to support learning.

• Help students develop confidence and proficiency in both written and spoken French.

• Assess students’ understanding and academic progress through appropriate exercises and assessments.

• Identify areas where students may require additional support and provide appropriate guidance.

• Adapt teaching approaches and lesson content according to the students’ progress and learning needs.

• Maintain appropriate records of lessons, assignments, assessments, and student progress.

• Provide regular feedback on students’ academic development.

• Work professionally with the designated parent or guardian to support the students’ overall learning objectives.

• Maintain a positive, respectful, and well structured learning environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Fluent in French, both written and spoken

• Previous experience teaching or tutoring students

• Strong knowledge of French language, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation

• Ability to teach students at different learning levels

• Strong lesson planning and classroom management skills

• Patient, organized, responsible, and professional

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly

• A degree or relevant qualification in French is preferred.

• Teaching certification or relevant professional experience will be an advantage
