About Urban Cars
We operate 76 Toyota Vitz taxis across Accra, partnered with Yango and other ride-hailing platforms. We are hiring for two critical roles in our operations team. Read both and apply for the one that fits you.
POSITION A: HIRING & TRAINING MANAGER (SCOUT) – FIELD ROLE
You will recruit, onboard, train, and retain drivers for our fleet.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment: Find new drivers via job sites, social media, WhatsApp, lorry parks, and fuel stations. Conduct phone screenings, explain working conditions, and secure office visits.

Registration & Onboarding: Verify documents (DVLA license, insurance, Voter ID). Check open databases. Draft and sign lease agreements. Enter driver and vehicle data into Opteum/Optic system.
Training: Train every new driver on the Yango driver app (accepting trips, peak hours, hotspots, earnings maximization). Instruct on safe driving, vehicle maintenance, and interaction with government officials.
Retention: Support every new driver daily for their first 14 days—monitor performance, answer questions, prevent early quitting.
Driver Satisfaction: Conduct daily surveys among active drivers. Collect feedback and communicate concerns to the Supervisor.
Field Inspections: Periodically check driving skills and vehicle condition (AC, tires, cleanliness).
Daily Reporting (to Supervisor): Active ads posted, responses received, drivers trained, drivers registered, drivers who left (with reasons), current candidate reserve, new drivers who actually started working.
