Job summary
A leading real estate and social housing developer based in Accra, Ghana, is seeking a highly skilled, meticulous, and results-driven Project Engineer. The successful candidate will oversee engineering designs, manage on-site construction workflows, and ensure our affordable housing projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Define the engineering scope of work, project milestones, and resource requirements for multi-phase social housing developments.
- Monitor daily construction activities on-site, ensuring strict adherence to architectural, structural, and MEP engineering drawings.
- Coordinate material requisitions, equipment deployment, and manpower allocation to keep projects on track.
Quality Control & Safety
- Enforce rigorous quality assurance protocols to guarantee all structural and finishing works meet national engineering codes and building standards.
- Implement and audit strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies across all active construction zones.
- Conduct regular technical site inspections to identify, log, and rectify any construction defects or structural deviations.
Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the main technical link between sub-contractors, site foremen, quantity surveyors, and senior management.
- Review contract documents, verify contractor work progress, and sign off on completed milestones for payment processing.
- Track project variations and issue clear, regular technical progress reports to the Project Manager.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education & Professional Certifications
- First Degree: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Registration: Registered member in good standing with the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE).
- Added Advantage: A Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in civil engineering and construction supervision.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale residential building or mass social housing projects within Ghana.
Technical & Soft Skills
- High proficiency in engineering and design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project scheduling tools like MS Project or Primavera.
- Solid understanding of local Ghanaian building codes, soil mechanics, and structural concrete/masonry frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills to effectively manage large site crews and technical teams.
