Technical Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Assistant to support our drone operations team. The successful candidate will assist in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and deployment of drones for various applications, including aerial surveying, mapping, inspections, and deliveries. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a keen interest in UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the assembly, calibration, and maintenance of drones and related equipment.
• Support field operations, including drone setup, flight testing, and data collection.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to drone hardware and software.
• Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain accurate records of drone maintenance, software updates, and flight logs.
• Collaborate with engineers and pilots to improve drone performance and efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry advancements and emerging drone technologies.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Provide technical support and training to team members as needed.
• Assist in conducting research

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Robotics, Electronics, Aviation, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with drone operations, UAV technology, or electronics.
• Basic knowledge of drone components, flight control systems, and software.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing drone operations (FAA, CAA, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and travel as required.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++ (preferred but not mandatory).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with drone data processing software (e.g., Pix4D, DroneDeploy, Agisoft Metashape, All DJI software).
• Knowledge of GIS, remote sensing, or aerial imaging technologies.
• Certification in drone piloting (e.g., Part 107, RPAS certification) is a plus.
