Job Role: Monitoring & Evaluation Lead
Reports To: Chief Of Staff
Purpose of the role
To lead the design and implementation of M&E frameworks and ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of programs, projects, or initiatives within the organization.
This role is crucial for monitoring progress, evaluating impact, and making informed choices to enhance future results.
Job Duties
· Lead the design of M&E frameworks for projects, review the quality of existing data in the project subject areas, and data collection methods, and ensure good baseline statistics for impact evaluation processes.
· Monitor ongoing project activities to ensure they are being implemented according to the plan, timeline, and within budget.
· Develop M&E tools such as surveys, interview guides, questionnaires, monitoring check lists, reporting templates etc. and gather data to measure project performance and progress.
· Establish and maintain systems to track inputs, outputs, outcomes, and the impact of implemented projects.
· Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to draw insights, using statistical methods and software, and assist the development of comprehensive reports on findings, including recommendations for improvement or future action.
· Ensure that projects comply with donor and organizational M&E standards and guidelines.
· Use M&E data to adapt and improve ongoing projects or inform future programming decisions.
· Maintain M&E database for projects, programs and initiatives, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
· Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in M&E, incorporating innovations into M&E systems as appropriate.
· Liaise with relevant parties to prepare M&E periodic reports and updates for presentation.
Qualification
· Minimum degree in Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Economics, Data Science, or a related field from a recognized institution
· Professional certification in project management is a plus
· Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar role
· Experience with M&E frameworks, Project Evaluation and Reporting Systems
· Knowledge of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS)
· Excellent Communication (Verbal & Written) & Research Skills
· Must be detail-oriented and able to think analytically and strategically to assess project performance and recommend improvements.
· Must be a good team player, and be willing to take up other responsibilities
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. word, Excel, PPT, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
