We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented M&R Hub Manager to join our team. This field-oriented role is responsible for maintaining depot and equipment quality through regular on-site inspections, technical evaluations, and effective stakeholder collaboration. At least 60% of the role is dedicated to boots-on-the-ground presence at depots, while the remaining scope focuses on documentation, analysis, and coordination to ensure seamless execution of maintenance and repair activities.
• Conduct depot inspections a minimum of 3 days per week, maintaining strong on-site presence (“boots on the ground”) across designated repair shops and depots.
• Perform pre-repair and post-repair inspections of containers and equipment on-site, verifying that damage assessment, repair work, and material usage meet company standards.
• Assess damage types and severity on Reefer, Dry Van, Standard, and Special Containers, ensuring units are safe and suitable for commercial demand.
• Evaluate repair quality, including workmanship, adherence to agreed estimates, and conformance with our company repair standards.
• Review and verify material quality used in repairs (e.g., steel, floor, paint, insulation, components), ensuring durability, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct comprehensive M&R audits—both office-based and on-site—covering cost analysis, adherence to the M&R framework, quality assurance of materials and repairs, process checks, safety practices, and documentation at repair depots.
• Act as key point of contact for local depots, repair vendors, leasing companies, and internal stakeholders, building effective relationships and resolving operational issues quickly.
• Manage expectations and conflicts among stakeholders by providing clear technical justification, transparent cost and quality reasoning, and timely feedback.
• Work closely with Regional M&R, Operations, and Commercial teams to align on service levels, quality targets, and cost control measures.
• Evaluate repair documents in MARS and ensure estimations and repair performance align with company standards and processes.
• Evaluate and document on-hire inspections and off-hire repairs for leasing equipment, ensuring proper records and evidence.
• Initiate and support recovery of 3rd-party damages by providing inspection evidence and documentation.
• Handle and coordinate equipment emergency repairs, prioritizing safety and operational continuity.
• Support local tariff negotiations with technical inputs and quality insights gained from field inspections.
• Analyse ad hoc costs and repair cycle time statistics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
• IICL Reefer & Dry Van Container Inspection Certification Examination, or sufficient technical knowledge confirmed by the Regional M&R Senior Manager, acquired through relevant experience.
• Proven hands-on experience in depot, workshop, or container yard inspections, including damage assessment and repair supervision.
• Strong knowledge of repair processes, material quality standards, and maintenance procedures for Reefer, Standard, and Special Containers.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with depots, vendors, and internal teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance quality, cost, and operational needs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, spending a significant portion of time (at least 3 days per week) in the field at depots.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, fluent in English (written and spoken) and local language for the related area of responsibility.
• Proficiency in using M&R systems, including CEDEX coding.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to frequently travel within the designated radius.
