Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all food preparation activities in a kitchen, including creating menus, managing inventory, and ensuring food quality. They also lead and train kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Menu Development: Creating new recipes, planning menus, and developing daily specials.
- Food Preparation: Directing the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of various dishes, including salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, and
- desserts.
- Quality Control: Ensuring food is prepared and cooked to the correct specifications, adhering to safety and health procedures.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring food stock, ordering supplies, and managing food costs.
- Kitchen Management: Overseeing kitchen operations, including sanitation, equipment maintenance, and staff scheduling.
- Staff Supervision: Leading, mentoring, and training kitchen staff, including cooks and other food preparation workers.
- Customer Service: Addressing customer requests and dietary needs, modifying recipes as needed.
- Communication: Communicating with wait staff about daily specials and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
- Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Creativity to create dishes on brand with the restaurant
- Knowledge of different varieties of foods and ingredients
- Ability to accept criticism
- Ability to maintain an extremely sanitary environment while working
- Culinary school degree/diploma.
- Past experience as a working chef.
- Advanced knowledge of the culinary arts.
- Perfectionism in sanitation and quality control
- Expert multitasking ability.
- Ability to run stocktaking and place orders for resupply.
- Exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment.
- Passion and pride for delighting people with food.
- Minimum 1-year experience in a similar role
- Computer literacy — MS Excel, Word, and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Must be organized, dependable, and respectful of confidentiality
- High integrity and accountability
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Friendly and professional demeanor with customers
- Willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of a customer.
