Role Summary:
We are looking for a highly experienced and technically skilled Automotive Trainer with a strong background in modern vehicle systems, diagnostics, and mechanical repair. This professional will be responsible for training aspiring automotive technicians using industry-best practices and up-to-date diagnostic technology.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Deliver theoretical and practical training in automotive mechanics, diagnostics, engine systems, transmission, suspension, brakes, and electronics.
•
Train learners in modern diagnostic tools (OBD II, CANBUS, etc.) and computerized vehicle systems.
•
Develop comprehensive lesson plans, training manuals, and competency-based assessments.
•
Facilitate practical sessions on vehicle inspection, fault detection, servicing, and repair.
•
Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards in the workshop.
•
Assess trainee performance, provide feedback, and support learning progress.
•
Maintain and manage automotive training tools, workshop equipment, and consumables.
•
Collaborate with the curriculum development team to continuously improve training content.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
•
Diploma or Higher National Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Bachelor’s Degree is an advantage).
•
Certified Automotive Technician/Trainer (e.g., ASE, IMI, City & Guilds Level 3, or equivalent).
•
Minimum 10 years of practical automotive work experience, with at least 3 years in a training/instructor role.
•
Hands-on expertise in both manual and automatic transmission systems, hybrid systems, and modern diagnostic tools.
•
Experience with mining, transport fleet, or heavy-duty vehicles is highly desirable.
•
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•
Strong ability to train adult learners in both theory and hands-on settings.
•
Familiarity with international automotive training frameworks and competency-based education.
•
Ability to speak French is a plus (especially for deployment in Burkina Faso).
