Job Summary
The General Foreman is responsible for supervising casual workers, coordinating daily field operations, maintaining accurate records and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, safely and to the required standard. The role requires a responsible, organized and literate individual capable of promoting productivity, discipline and teamwork across the farm.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibility:
Supervision of labour & task coordination
- Daily work plans communicated clearly to all teams
- Tasks completed as assigned across planting, weeding, harvesting, land prep, irrigation, spraying and general fieldwork
- Daily work progress updates submitted to the Farm Manager
- Tasks are completed on time and meet expected quality
- Issues or delays escalated promptly
Attendance, timekeeping and labour records
- Maintain accurate attendance registers/ muster rolls for all casual workers
- Ensure all employees are at their allocation on time
- Ensure employees leave work at the allowed time
- Submit attendance record daily
Communication to workers
- Communicate all work plans to the teams
- Deliver feedback from management to the workers
- Give instructions to the casual laborers on work performance
- Relay any messages from management
Safety, Hygiene and work standards
- Ensure safety and hygiene procedures are followed during all farm operations
- Ensure workers have and use PPE
- Report all incidents and accidents promptly
Monitor performance and maintain discipline in the teams
- Monitor performance by ensuring targets are met
- Develop a discipline team and keep records of warnings
- Maintain order and promote teamwork and fairness
Safeguard tools, materials and equipment
- Keep records of tools, materials and equipment issued to workers
- Ensure all issued items are returned at the end of the day
- Ensure proper handling of company property
Reporting daily progress
- Support management in implementing efficient work routines
- Submit daily activity reports on work progress, challenges and recommendations
Requirements:
- Basic literacy and numeracy (must be able to read and write).
- 3 years of supervisory experience in an agricultural set up
- Good communication skills in English and the local language.
- Basic record-keeping and time management ability.
- Reliable, honest and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, good problem solving ability and organized
