Head of Diagnostics

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic and Operational Leadership

• Provide leadership and direction for all diagnostic units including laboratory, imaging, and related services.
• Develop and implement diagnostic service strategies aligned with the clinic’s overall goals and objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management of the diagnostic department.

Diagnostics Management

• Supervise and mentor Diagnostic staff to ensure adherence to best practices and professional standards.
• Ensure the effective and efficient operation of Diagnostic services, including timely and accurate reporting of results.
• Implement and maintain Diagnostic quality assurance and control systems.

Quality Management Systems (QMS)

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of QMS within the diagnostic units.
• Ensure compliance with national regulatory requirements and accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 15189, ISO 9001).
• Conduct regular internal audits, risk assessments, and corrective action follow-ups.

Policy, Compliance, and Safety

• Develop and enforce diagnostic policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure adherence to ethical, safety, and environmental standards.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and accreditation agencies as required.

Training and Capacity Building

• Support continuous professional development of diagnostic staff.
• Facilitate training on new technologies, quality management, and safety practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Radiology, Sonography or related field.
• Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (or relevant authority).
• Preferred Education: Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent management qualification.
• Experience: At least 8 years of progressive experience in medical Diagnostic management, with a minimum of 6 years in a senior supervisory or managerial role.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of laboratory operations, diagnostic equipment, and quality management systems (ISO 15189 preferred).
