Safety Officer

Job Summary:

EMC Limited is seeking a proactive and dedicated Safety Officer to oversee and ensure adherence to occupational health and safety guidelines across our project sites. The ideal candidate must be ready to start immediately and play a key role in creating a safe working environment for all personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies on-site
• Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and hazard identifications
• Perform regular safety inspections and risk assessments
• Report and document accidents, incidents, and near misses
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Keep records of safety-related activities and maintain documentation
• Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies
• Support emergency preparedness plans and conduct drills when needed
• Provide training and guidance to workers on safe practices

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of Ghana Labour Laws and construction/MEP industry safety standards
• Health and Safety certification is an added advantage
• Excellent observation and reporting skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions
• Must be available to start immediately
