Job Summary:
The Poultry Processing Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the poultry processing plant, ensuring efficiency, safety, quality control, and compliance with health and safety standards. This role will manage staff, production schedules, and inventory while optimizing processes to achieve maximum productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all poultry processing operations including slaughter, evisceration, chilling, cutting, packaging, and dispatch.
- Monitor production schedules to meet sales and delivery targets.
- Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, food safety and quality standards
- Manage and train processing staff to ensure optimum performance and compliance with operational standards.
- Implement and monitor cost-effective production strategies while minimizing wastage.
- Liaise with veterinary and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with animal welfare and inspection protocols.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Maintain accurate reports on production data, quality control, and incident tracking.
- Enforce workplace safety guidelines and lead accident prevention initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in poultry processing operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, temperature-controlled environments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management software.
