About the Role

The Kitchen Assistant will work closely with chefs and cooks to support food preparation, ensure cleanliness, and assist with storage and seasoning prep. This role is ideal for someone with basic kitchen knowledge who is ready to learn and contribute to a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in prepping ingredients for daily service, including vegetables, proteins, and sauces.
• Portion prepped items and store them appropriately in line with food safety standards.
• Prepare house seasoning blends and spice mixes according to internal recipes.
• Marinate proteins and store them in designated containers for future use.
• Support plating and presentation under the guidance of the kitchen staff.
• Help with kitchen cleaning, including surfaces, tools, and equipment, after every shift.
• Participate in deep cleaning routines and maintain overall kitchen hygiene.

Qualifications

• Basic culinary knowledge or experience in a kitchen environment.
• Familiarity with traditional cooking practices and prep techniques.
• Mathematically inclined for accurate portioning and measuring.
• Good written and reporting skills for labelling and inventory documentation.
• Physically energetic, able to work long hours and under pressure.
• Willingness to learn and follow kitchen procedures and food safety protocols.
