Job Title: Head of Business Development – Villa Monticello Hotel Group
Location: Accra, Ghana
Reports to: General Manager
About the Role
Villa Monticello is Ghana’s premier boutique hotel, known for its personalised service, refined atmosphere, and long-standing relationships with corporate, diplomatic, and private clients. We are seeking a Head of Business Development to lead all business development activity for our Accra property.
This is a senior, hands-on role focused on growing revenue, expanding our client base, and strengthening key accounts. The ideal candidate is confident engaging with stakeholders up to C-suite level, has strong commercial instincts, and demonstrates maturity, focus, and attention to detail in everything they do.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all business development initiatives, including room sales, meetings, conferences, incentives, and private events
- Drive account growth across corporate, diplomatic, institutional, and private client segments
- Build trusted relationships with all stakeholders and ensure the hotel is well-positioned on procurement and supplier platforms
- Develop and negotiate tailored proposals, contracts, and preferred agreements
- Collaborate closely with marketing to ensure messaging and outreach align with sales priorities
- Analyse booking trends, conversion data, and market intelligence to inform strategy
- Represent the hotel at client meetings, industry forums, and networking events
- Maintain structured reporting on performance metrics, pipeline activity, and revenue opportunities
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 7 years of senior-level experience in business development, sales, or key account management, preferably in hospitality or a related service industry
- Proven ability to lead business development strategy and execution from end to end
- Strong relationship management skills — must be confident engaging with high-level decision-makers
- Emotionally intelligent, with the maturity to read a room and manage sensitive or complex interactions effectively
- Thorough, focused, and comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively
- Proficient in Excel and experienced in tracking and reporting commercial performance
- Professional, discreet, and aligned with the values of a high-service, team-driven culture
