Purpose Of The Job
The Geology Department of Damang Gold Mine seeks to employ an experienced and self-motivated individual for the position of Shift Supervisor who will be responsible for allocating staff duties and providing field supervision and training for all staff involved in grade control sampling, tally clerking, ore spotting and core shed duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with essential supervisors when changes are required and ensure that daily programs and routines are carried out efficiently
Supervise and monitor systems to ensure that staff work in accordance with production and Exploration requirements as well as comply with company standards of operation
Provide good leadership to ensure that staff and contractors adhere to safety standards that exceed industry practice and any applicable legislative provisions
Supervise the setup of ore block and grade control markouts as well as the establishment of drop-cuts and ramps in the pit
Act as a senior representative during the night shift for Mine Geology operations
Ensure compliance with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 requirements
Key Requirements
- A SSCE or NVTI qualification
Well-developed oral and written skills in English Language
A minimum work experience of five (5) years and one (1) year in similar role
Performance-orientated and results-driven
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with people of all diverse
Medical fitness for the position and environment
A valid Ghanaian driver’s license
and proficiency in driving light vehicles
