Job Summary

A pharmaceutical company, located within the Tema Free Zones Enclave, is seeking to employ a Maintenance Officer to provide support for the Maintenance department of the company. The Maintenance Officer will carry out maintenance, repair and planned maintenance of equipment and facilities as required, delivering a high level of service to Production.

  • Minimum Qualification : HND
  • Experience Level : Mid level
  • Experience Length : 3 years

Job Description/Requirements

Key technical responsibilities:

  • Design maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods.
  • Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.
  • Diagnose breakdown problems.
  • Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly.
  • Carry out quality inspections on machinery
  • Liaise with client departments, customers, and other engineering and production colleagues.
  • Arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings, or components.
  • Control maintenance tools, stores, and equipment.
  • Monitor and control maintenance costs.
  • Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs.
  • Improve health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Write maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines.
  • Ensure there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
  • Perform any other duties assigned or delegated by his/her immediate supervisor.


Qualifications

Minimum of HND or Vocational Training Certificate, with at least 3 years working

experience in a manufacturing environment.



General Skills/Experience Required

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven maintenance skills
  • A keen eye for details
  • Skills in the use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance
  • Demonstrable ability to analyze information in a logical manner and to prepare coherent investigative and/or technical reports
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
