Education Coordinator
Job summary
The Education Coordinator is responsible for supervising and strengthening PCFA’s educational programs. These include activities for CFA scholars, interns and ‘easy’ users, ins-school classes in computer education, creative arts, and literacy, as well as clubs and vacation camps. PCFA uses a child-centered, holistic approach to learning, emphasizing hands-on learning, positive discipline, creativity, critical thinking, and the social and emotional development of each learner. The Education Coordinator ensures high-quality teaching, strong learning outcomes, effective data collection, and continuous improvement across all education programs. The role works closely with the Program Coordinator and Executive Director to ensure programs are impactful, sustainable, well-documented, and aligned with PCFA’s mission.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Collaborate with volunteers and assistants to design and implement well- structured lesson plans that meet learners’ needs.
- Create assignments and learning activities for PCFA scholars and interns to support their academic, social, and computer skills while building communication effectiveness and professional development
- Train and mentor PCFA student-interns to
- deliver lessons confidently, accurately, with emphasis on learner engagement.
- deliver effective classroom management, positive discipline, and child- centered learning approaches.
- participate fully in lesson-planning and training sessions (including online trainings).
- Oversee preparation, use, and safe return of all teaching materials and equipment.
- Step in to teach or support classes when teachers are absent.
- Provide regular monitoring, feedback, and recommendations to improve program quality and outcomes.
- Ensure accurate and timely collection of program and student data.
- Review weekly data entries for accuracy, trends, and insights to inform management decision-making.
- Establish benchmarks and track program progress for reporting and grant applications.
- Identify goals, indicators, and evaluation benchmarks for education programs and CFA students.
- Ensure programs remain within budget and deliver value for resources used.
- Submit regular reports and analyses on program activities and impact.
- Provide at least one success story and three student/teacher quotes regularly to demonstrate program impact. Success stories should provide the context behind the success.
- Ensure education programmes are well-documented, effectively communicated, and aligned with donor and stakeholder requirements
- Ensure quality photographs with diverse subject matter are taken during sessions for reporting and communications.
- Capture short videos of classroom activities to share with the communication team.
- Produce a minimum of two (2) social media posts per week.
- Deliver one (1) core content story for the monthly email newsletter CFA Student Support
- Design Center activities to meet key needs and expected outcomes across communication, time management and organization, computers skills, and other academic, professional and personal skills.
- Support and deliver holiday literacy and numeracy sessions ulilizing Path to Success scholars who are available on break and interns.
- Guide students in writing letters, testimonials, and reflections for PCFA supporters, improving relevance, persuasive writing, and proper grammar.
- Provide real-time updates on field activities, challenges, and opportunities.
- Participate in daily check-ins with supervisors and weekly, monthly, and termly review meetings.
- Prepare and submit weekly reports covering all education program activities and intern interactions.
- Identify opportunities and funding avenues to expand English literacy and numeracy programs in rural communities around Ho.
- Build strong relationships with GES teachers, community stakeholders, beneficiaries, and partners.
- Support PCFA students to develop into compassionate, effective educators and classroom assistants.
- Promote positive reinforcement strategies in line with PCFA guidelines.
- Report any use of physical punishment, verbal abuse, or humiliating disciplinary practices
- Provide daily guidance and support to student interns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience coordinating education or community-based programs, preferably within an NGO or INGO setting.
- Demonstrated experience in teacher training, youth development, or education supervision.
- Experience working in intercultural and community-based environments.
- Strong communication, leadership, and reporting skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
