Job Summary

The Human Resource Manager is a strategic partner responsible for aligning HR policies, processes, and practices with the company’s overall mission of youth empowerment and economic education. This role requires a combination of strategic insight, leadership, and hands-on operational expertise to drive talent management, employee engagement, , and compliance initiatives that support a positive and productive workplace culture.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:


HR Strategy & Policy Development

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that support the company’s mission and business objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HR programs and adjust policies to meet the evolving needs of the organization and ensure legal compliance.


Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Oversee the full cycle of recruitment to attract and hire top talent in line with organizational values.
  • Design comprehensive onboarding and orientation programs that ensure new employees integrate smoothly into the company’s culture


Performance Management & Employee Development

  • Implement performance appraisal systems that drive high performance and support professional growth.
  • Identify training needs, plan, and coordinate development programs, workshops, or coaching sessions to build a skilled, engaged workforce.


Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, managing conflict resolution, and maintaining open, transparent communication.
  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting employee engagement initiatives and maintaining strong relationships with staff and management.


Compensation, Benefits & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and periodically review compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are competitive and equitable.
  • Ensure adherence to all local labor laws, safeguarding the rights of employees and protecting the organization from potential legal challenges.


HR Information Systems & Data Management

  • Utilize HRIS and relevant software tools to manage employee records, generate key HR metrics, and support data-driven decision-making.


Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage and mentor the HR team (if applicable) to ensure efficient delivery of HR services.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align people strategies with the broader goals of the company.


Organizational Development & Change Management

  • Support and drive organizational change initiatives through effective communication, staff planning, and succession planning.
  • Ensure the maintenance of updated job descriptions, organizational charts, and historical HR records to maintain organizational transparency.


Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A Master’s degree or additional professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) is highly desirable.


Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a progressively responsible HR management role; experience in the non-profit or youth empowerment sector is an advantage.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic HR planning, talent management, and employee relations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ghanaian labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing teams and driving organizational change.
  • Proficient with HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analytics tools.
