We are looking for a seasoned and strategic Head of Finance to lead our financial operations in Ghana. This is a senior leadership position designed for a professional who thrives in high-growth environments and possesses the expertise to build and scale robust financial functions.
The Role
The Head of Finance will be responsible for the overall financial health and operational excellence of our Ghana entity. This role requires a unique blend of strategic foresight and hands-on management. You will lead a dedicated local team, ensuring that our financial systems, reporting, and compliance frameworks are world-class and fully aligned with our global mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Planning: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide accurate financial forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the monthly and annual financial close processes, ensuring the highest quality of financial statements and reporting.
- Risk & Compliance: Maintain and enhance internal control systems, ensuring full adherence to local regulations and global company policies.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact for local financial institutions, investors, and external auditors, fostering strong professional relationships.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the local finance team, focusing on capacity building, professional development, and operational efficiency.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to support the company’s growth and scalability.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a proactive leader with a strong sense of ownership and a track record of success in complex financial environments.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or MBA preferred.
- Professional Background: Minimum of 10 years of progressively senior finance roles, ideally combining FP&A, accounting, risk management, and compliance.
- Operational Expertise: Strong track record managing local finance operations within a matrix or global organizational structure.
- Financial Coordination: Familiarity with debt financing, investor relations, and cross-border financial coordination.
- Change Leadership: Proven experience with process optimization, policy development, and leading teams through change.
