Job Summary

We are seeking a Finance Officer who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial activities, ensuring accuracy in financial documentation, managing company budgets, and supporting compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of the organization and supporting strategic business decisions.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
  • Provide periodic forecasting updates and identify potential financial risks.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Manage and reconcile vendor and client accounts.
  • Ensure timely billing, collections, and payments.
  • Track expenses and ensure they align with approved budgets.

Bank & Cash Management:

  • Perform daily reconciliations of bank and cash transactions.
  • Monitor cash flow and make recommendations for optimization.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and legal obligations.
  • Support audit processes, both internal and external.

Payroll Support:

  • Collaborate with HR to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Maintain payroll-related financial records.

Administrative Finance Support:

  • Support procurement processes and ensure financial documentation is properly filed.
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal finance procedures and systems.



Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • A first degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Part or full professional certification (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA) is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Publishing or media industry experience is a plus.


Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
