We are seeking a Finance Officer who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial activities, ensuring accuracy in financial documentation, managing company budgets, and supporting compliance with all regulatory requirements. Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
- Provide periodic forecasting updates and identify potential financial risks.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Manage and reconcile vendor and client accounts.
- Ensure timely billing, collections, and payments.
- Track expenses and ensure they align with approved budgets.
Bank & Cash Management:
- Perform daily reconciliations of bank and cash transactions.
- Monitor cash flow and make recommendations for optimization.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and legal obligations.
- Support audit processes, both internal and external.
Payroll Support:
- Collaborate with HR to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Maintain payroll-related financial records.
Administrative Finance Support:
- Support procurement processes and ensure financial documentation is properly filed.
- Contribute to the improvement of internal finance procedures and systems.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- A first degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Part or full professional certification (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA) is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Publishing or media industry experience is a plus.
Skills:
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
