Job Summary
The Credit Officer will be responsible for identifying potential clients, evaluating loan applications, facilitating loan disbursements, and ensuring effective loan recovery. The ideal candidate should be results-driven, customer-focused, and ready to contribute to the company’s financial growth through responsible lending and efficient client management. This role is open to both experienced and entry-level applicants who demonstrate strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Client Prospecting & Relationship Management
- Identify and prospect for potential clients who meet the company’s lending criteria.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
- Provide clients with detailed information about loan products and services.
Loan Processing & Disbursement
- Assist clients in completing loan applications and required documentation.
- Evaluate client eligibility through background checks, affordability assessments, and references.
- Present qualified loan applications to management for approval.
- Support in the timely disbursement of approved loans.
Loan Recovery & Monitoring
- Monitor loan repayments to ensure clients meet agreed payment schedules.
- Follow up on overdue payments and initiate recovery procedures where necessary.
- Maintain an individual loan default rate of less than 5%.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on loan performance.
Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of all loan transactions and client information.
- Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures.
- Report any risk or irregularities to the Operations Manager promptly.
Performance Development
- Participate in company training programs to enhance product knowledge and credit management skills.
- Support team efforts in achieving monthly and quarterly lending targets.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or any related field.
- No prior experience required – training will be provided.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication).
- Must be self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work with minimal supervision.
