Director, Finance & Administration/Financial Controller

Responsibilities:

Financial Management;

• Oversee the annual finance planning/budgeting process and prepare the annual operating budget.
• Prepare monthly income statement, statement of financial position, and cash flow financial statements.
• Coordinate the annual audit by an independent external auditor and ensure compliance with all regulatory issues.
• Oversee payroll, payroll liabilities and benefits including PAYE, SSNIT and Tier 2 contributions.
• Ensure efficient functioning and documentation for all financial systems including receipts, disbursements, bookkeeping, budgeting and accounting.
• Supervise the Account officers and oversee accounts department operations.
• Prepare budgets and financial reports for projects.

Operations

• Oversee office operations, check and prepare bills to be approved for construction project sites all over the nation and matters relating to facilities at the firm, insurance, major equipment acquisitions and maintenance.
• Negotiate/manage project-related contracts with consultants, contractors and suppliers.

Legal, Strategy and Business Development;

• Oversee risk management and legal activities, including: business insurance; memorandums of agreement; contracts; leases, and other legal documents and agreements

Required qualification, skills & experience

• A masters or professional certificate of professional body is preferred
• A degree in Accounting/Finance with at least 10 years of experience in managing finance in a high growth organization.
• Knowledge in Accounting Software like Quickbooks, Freshbooks etc.
• Experience in building/road construction services is an advantage.
• A preference for corporate or government experience.
• Excellent management, financial and leadership skills.
• Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS
• Superior level of computer literacy is required
