Job Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial transactions, records, and reporting processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial insights. The role also provides essential administrative support to management while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting systems.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Create and process invoices, refunds, and other financial documents in line with company policy.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Support the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal company policies.
- Manage and reconcile company bank accounts and other financial instruments.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other financial stakeholders as required.
- Handle tax filings and provide financial analysis to support management decision- making.
- Maintain an accurate Fixed Asset Register, tracking asset locations, valuations, and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare audit working papers and assist with internal and external audit processes.
- Support procurement and purchasing functions by processing purchase orders and related documentation.
- Provide general administrative and HR-related financial support as needed.
Required Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent understanding of accounting standards and financial regulations (local and international).
- Proficiency in preparing timely and accurate financial statements.
- Skilled in using accounting and ERP software such as Pronto, SAGE, PRISM or SAP, and advanced MS Excel.
- Sound knowledge of Ghanaian financial reporting, taxation, and compliance requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with management, auditors, and external partners.
- Ability to manage and analyze large datasets related to mining operations and financial performance.
- Proven ability to establish internal controls and ensure financial accuracy and accountability.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and make sound financial decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with accounting software.
