Job Summary

FAWE Ghana is seeking to hire a highly motivated field officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing project activities, providing field reports, and building relationships with the local communities and stakeholders, as well as ensuring that implementation schedules are met as per the Project activity implementation plan. The Field officer’s primary function is to oversee the implementation and monitoring of SHARE Project activities in the target Districts in the Upper East region, ensuring implementation schedules are met as per the detailed project activity implementation plan and strengthening adherence to systems for quality project implementation. This will include contributing to shaping and directing the organization's work in championing girls; and women’s education in the Upper East Region and engaging stakeholders to achieve the set project and organizational objectives.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Project Implementation:

  • Implementing project activities including training and community mobilization of participants at the field level with the support of the Programme Officer and Senior Field Officer
  • Provide ongoing support to adolescents, youth groups, parent groups, religious and traditional groups in the generation of evidence for advocacy engagements at the local and national levels
  • Resolve project-related issues, risks, and conflicts
  • Create awareness on the project goal, objectives, and expected outputs within the community.
  • Support FAWE Ghana programs by supervising and managing all activities in the Upper East Region of Ghana and other project sites.
  • Support team in preparing proposals and concept notes.
  • Take lead in preparing field reports as assigned.
  • Contribute to information-sharing.
  • Compile monthly and quarterly reports on time and with accurate data.
  • Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibilities as and when needed


Community Engagement

  • Conduct community outreach and awareness programs.
  • Lead the mobilization of adolescents, youth groups, parent groups, religious and traditional groups as well as other key stakeholders at the district and community levels
  • Represent the FAWE Ghana professionally at community meetings and events


Data Collection and Reporting

  • Collect and analyze data to monitor project success and make adjustments as necessary
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on field activities and submit to management
  • Maintain appropriate data on project implementation as per the project monitoring and evaluation plan.


Network and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and advocacy activities as well as media works at the district level with the support of the Programme Officer.
  • Establish and maintain a network of contacts with traditional authorities, MMDA’s, citizens groups and community representatives in the district



Education & Experience

  • At least a first degree in Public Health, Community development, Social Work or other relevant fields of study.
  • Three years’ experience in project design and implementation, in a similar role, will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in implementing Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health project
  • Proficiency in any of these local languages, Kassem, Buli, Gurune, Frafra, and English is a must.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in developing and implementing community mobilisation projects and stakeholder engagement
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the environment and people, including culture.
  • Ability to remain flexible to a changing environment and to make decisions independently.
  • Demonstrate willingness to work in a team.


Location: Navrongo, Upper East Region Ghana
