Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service. As the first point of contact for many of our customers, the cashier plays a key role in creating a positive shopping experience. This role involves operating the cash register, processing payments, issuing receipts, and assisting with inquiries in a fast-paced retail environment.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:


Sales Transaction Processing:

  • Handle cash, card, POS, or mobile payments accurately.
  • Generate and issue receipts or invoices to wholesale customers.
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded properly in the system (electronic).


Customer Service:

  • Greet and attend to walk-in wholesale customers.
  • Respond to inquiries about product pricing, availability, and promotions.
  • Guide customers through the purchasing process and assist with upselling when necessary.


Daily Reconciliation:

  • Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Reconcile total sales with the system and report discrepancies to the accounts or supervisor.
  • Prepare daily sales summaries and hand over cash as per company policy.


Inventory Coordination:

  • Coordinate with storekeepers or warehouse staff to confirm stock availability.
  • Notify management or stock officers of fast-moving or low-stock items.
  • May assist with stock count or tagging during periodic stocktaking.


Recordkeeping & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and returns.
  • File invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations for audit purposes.
  • May assist in inputting or updating sales data in ERP or inventory systems.


Support Sales Operations:

  • Promote offers and discounts to wholesale customers.
  • Work closely with sales executives or supervisors to track sales targets.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the sales area.


Skills and Qualities Needed:

  • HND Certificate.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong numerical and cash handling skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with sales software or POS systems
  • Integrity and accountability
