Contract Manager

To lead the operational and strategic management of the security contract focusing on client retention, staff optimization, and maintaining discipline on the mine
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure timely reconciliation of invoice.
- Ensure proper allocation of staff to positions and structure and analyse
staff turnover
- Ensure adequate personnel are staffed to the contract, including relief,
reserve and contingency personnel.
- Ensure that acceptable standards of behavior at work are maintained by
all subordinate employees, as required by G4S’s code of conduct and
disciplinary code.
- Maintenance of client relationships and ensuring client retention.
- Understand the importance of client communication, notification and
reporting procedures.
- Report on Security KPIs to Management
- Ensure that only appropriately trained and registered security personnel
are utilized at all times.
- Identify new business opportunities in the sphere of operations, as well
as in terms of growth of business, driven by the promotion of integrated
security solutions.
- Conduct Security Risk Assessments
- Daily check the presence of site instructions, CUG, Flashlight, baton, and
emergency contact list. Check the alertness and fitness of security officers
on duty
- Check to be sure that all equipment present is serviceable.
Skills And Competencies
- Effective Communication: High proficiency in formal reporting, client notification procedures, and professional interpersonal communication
- Leadership & Ethical Conduct: Strong ability to enforce discipline and maintain high standards of behavior among security personnel in accordance with the code of conduct
- Managerial Ability : Use available resources much to the delivery of
contract expectations. Be able to bring out the best in people.
- Problem Solving : Making timely decisions often under pressure.
- Strategic Thinking : Connecting daily operations with long term
organizational goals
Experience & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Security Management, or a related field
- A certificate in Security will be an advantage
- Strong background in surveillance, investigations and incident reporting
- Knowledge of security protocols, procedures and best practices.
- Proven ability to manage large teams
- Minimum of 3-5 years in security operations, preferably within the mining or industrial setting.
