Job Description/Requirements
We are seeking a skilled and fluent Chinese Translator to support communication between Chinese expatriate staff and local employees in our hardware manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will facilitate clear verbal and written communication across teams, support document translation, and help bridge language and cultural gaps to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate verbal conversations between Chinese and local staff during meetings, training sessions, and production activities.
- Translate written documents, emails, manuals, and technical instructions from Chinese to English (and vice versa) with high accuracy.
- Support Chinese managers and engineers in communicating effectively with Ghanaian employees.
- Assist with cultural interpretation to minimize misunderstandings.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling company documents and communication.
- Perform other administrative duties as required related to translation and coordination.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written); knowledge of a local language is an advantage.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language, Translation, International Relations, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional translation or interpretation experience.
- Familiarity with manufacturing or technical vocabulary is a strong advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
Preferred:
Experience working in a Chinese or Asian-led manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
