Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Account Officer to join our finance team. The Account Officer will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a good understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Job Description/Requirements
Job Description:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and journals in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements for management and regulatory bodies.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes; verify, record, and process invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts to ensure accuracy and detect discrepancies.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, including daily balances, liquidity, and fund requirements.
- Assist with budget preparation and implementation; track expenditures and identify variances.
- Support financial forecasting and financial modeling to aid strategic planning and decision-making.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements such as PAYE, SSNIT, income tax, and other financial regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and internal teams during audits and assessments.
- Process journal entries, depreciation, and adjustments for monthly closing activities.
- Manage and safeguard confidential financial data, ensuring appropriate data privacy and cybersecurity measures are followed.
- Monitor and review internal control systems, and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Assist in inventory and asset management by maintaining proper asset registers, reconciliation records and participate in periodic stock count.
- Ensure proper documentation, filing, and archiving of all financial records, vouchers, and correspondence.
Requirements:
Education / Skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields
- Must have strong understanding of accounting principles and standards
- Must have excellent people management skills
- Must have an analytical approach to work
- Must have high numeracy and sound technical skills
- Must have problem-solving skills and initiative
- Must have strong attention to detail and an investigative nature
- Must have good time management skills and the ability to prioritize
- Must have the ability to work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships
- Must be willing to work in any of the regional capitals of the country
- Must have proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP or Sage)
- Must have the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Key Competences
- Must be computer literate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (word, excel, and PowerPoint)
Experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar.
- Experience in the FMCG/Agro industry will be an advantage
