Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage our Accounts office and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with statutory obligations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing and supervising the accounting functions, maintaining proper records, ensuring internal controls, and generating timely financial reports. Proficiency in QuickBooks and a strong understanding of Ghanaian tax laws are essential

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Organize the Accounts office by making sure that the office is fully functional to serve the company as effectively and professionally as possible.
- Assign roles and responsibilities to your Account’s office team where applicable to ensure that work is done well and professionally as possible.
- Institute internal control measures to be followed to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ensure proper and accurate filing of your documents (invoices, receipt and payment vouchers etc) using the accounting principles to ensure that you capture records accurately which will lead to efficiency in your work delivery.
- To record accurately all transactions in the Accounting Information System Software (QuickBooks [QB]) as promptly as practicable.
- Make all the necessary and relevant accounting adjustments to periodic reports as required by accounting practice to ensure accuracy of all the entries made.
- Generate periodic reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly & semi-annual) from QB as may be required by the Management in consultation with the Consulting Accountants for onward discussion with and the Board.
- Do all Bank reconciliations correctly and promptly.
- Develop an updated fixed assets register and fixed assets schedule to reflect the situation on the ground.
- Ensure that all statutory payments are made on time with the correct calculations made.
- Generate an accurate Trial Balance at the end of the year backed by proper source documentation.
- Prepare end-of-year Management Accounts for the company in anticipation of and in readiness for statutory audits latest by the first month of the first quarter of the ensuing year.
- Cooperate with the audit firm engaged to conduct the audit to ensure that the audit process is executed smoothly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional accountant, either fully qualified or partially from ICAG or ACCA
- Minimum of 2-3 years hands-on experience in accounting, preferably in a service-oriented industry.
- Proficient in accounting software (especially QuickBooks, or similar systems).
- Strong knowledge of Ghanaian tax laws and statutory obligations.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ensure that all post audit adjustments are promptly done as required by standard accounting practice.
