Job Title: Software Engineer—Systems & Data Operations
Location: Bluecrest College, Accra, Ghana
Bluecrest College Ghana is looking for a versatile and proactive Software Developer/Engineer to join our IT Services team. This role involves developing, maintaining, and supporting software solutions critical to the college’s operations across multiple campuses and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions to meet institutional needs.
- Maintain and enhance existing software systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Conduct software testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to resolve issues efficiently.
- Manage data operations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and security across systems.
- Provide end-user support, including training sessions and technical assistance.
- Document software processes, workflows, and technical procedures for future reference.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PHP, Python, or similar development stacks.
- Experience in software maintenance, debugging, and feature enhancement.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server).
Soft Skills:
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Capable of documenting technical workflows clearly and concisely.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in software development and system maintenance.
- Prior experience working with HRIS, academic platforms, or enterprise systems is a plus.
- Experience with multi-campus or multi-location software support is an advantage.
- Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering user-focused solutions.
- Experience in delivering user training and technical support is desirable.
