This critical role will support our Commercial Department's expansion by preparing accurate and competitive electrical cost estimates for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) projects across West Africa. The successful candidate will be instrumental in leveraging cutting-edge estimation software and digital tools to enhance our bidding capabilities and win rate. Working with our local sales lead, this role requires an deep understanding of electrical systems, and proven ability to quickly adapt to new technologies. We're looking for a fast learner who brings youthful energy and fresh perspectives to our estimation processes, and isn't afraid to use AI to find answers fast.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Digital Estimation Excellence: Prepare accurate and competitive electrical cost estimates using advanced estimation software (Procore), BIM models, and digital takeoff tools for projects ranging from $500K to $10M+ USD
- Technical Analysis: Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities with meticulous attention to detail, utilizing cloud- based collaboration platforms for team coordination
- Technology Integration: Leverage 3D visualization tools, BIM models, and automated quantity takeoff software to enhance estimation accuracy and reduce bid preparation time
- Market Intelligence: Research and maintain comprehensive databases of current material costs, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing using digital procurement platforms and market analysis tools.
- Value Engineering: Develop innovative cost-saving solutions and alternative technical approaches using the latest electrical technologies and sustainable design practices
- Bid Preparation: Coordinate with technical teams to prepare comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring alignment between commercial competitiveness and technical feasibility
- Digital Transformation: Support the implementation of Procore and other industry-leading platforms, contributing to the continuous improvement of our estimation processes
- Client Engagement: Participate in pre-bid meetings, virtual presentations, and site visits, capturing data through mobile applications and presenting estimates professionally.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certification in electrical systems or estimation software (preferred).
- Certification in AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software is highly advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in electrical estimation within the construction industry, preferably with MEP contractors.
- Track record of successfully estimating projects valued at minimum $500K USD.
- Experience with international projects and multi-currency estimating preferred.
- Familiarity with West African market conditions, suppliers, and pricing dynamics Technical Knowledge.
- Advanced proficiency in estimation software (Procore, Trimble, Accubid, ConEst, or similar platforms).
- Strong skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks for quantity takeoffs and clash detection.
- Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills for complex calculations and database management.
- Experience with cloud-based collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, Procore)
- Understanding of electrical distribution systems, lighting design, and low-current systems.
- Knowledge of international standards (NEC, IEC, British Standards) as applied in Ghana Industry-Specific Expertise.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and building automation.
- Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient electrical solutions, including solar integration.
- Familiarity with smart building technologies, IoT integration, and modern control systems.
- Understanding of FIDIC contracts and international procurement practices.
- Awareness of construction technology trends including prefabrication and modular systems
