Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Service Manager to lead and manage our workshop operations. The Service Manager will be responsible for overall workshop performance, service quality, technician supervision, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Job descriptions & requirements

Workshop & Operations Management

  • Oversee daily workshop operations and service delivery.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize job cards to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Assign jobs to technicians and monitor progress to meet turnaround targets.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Enforce Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards at all times.


Technical Oversight

  • Supervise diagnostics, repairs, and servicing across mechanical, electrical, A/C, and bodywork jobs.
  • Review and approve job estimates, labour hours, and parts usage.
  • Ensure repairs meet quality and safety standards before vehicle release.
  • Handle complex technical issues and escalations.


Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise workshop supervisors and technicians.
  • Monitor technician performance, productivity, and discipline.
  • Coach and mentor technicians and apprentices.
  • Identify training needs and support skills development.


Customer Service & Communication

  • Oversee vehicle intake and service advisory functions.
  • Communicate effectively with customers on job scope, timelines, and costs.
  • Handle customer complaints, warranty issues, and service follow-ups.
  • Ensure a professional and customer-focused service experience.


Inventory & Cost Control

  • Approve parts requisitions and ensure proper parts usage.
  • Work closely with inventory and procurement teams to avoid delays.
  • Monitor job costing, wastage, and efficiency.


Reporting & Systems

  • Use the ERP system to monitor job cards, service history, and performance.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
  • Provide management with insights on workshop productivity and challenges.
