Job summary
The Head of Engineering is responsible for end-to-end ownership of engineering strategy, delivery, and talent. This role ensures that the company’s technology platforms are secure, scalable, compliant, and reliable, while leading a high performing engineering team that deliver products aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the engineering vision and roadmap aligned with company growth, product strategy, and regulatory obligations.
- Own system architecture decisions, including APIs, microservices, databases, cloud infrastructure, and integrations with third-party providers.
- Ensure platforms are designed for scalability, resilience, performance, and security.
- Evaluate and approve new technologies, frameworks, and tools.
- Take full accountability for engineering delivery timelines, quality, and outcomes.
- Establish predictable go live cycles and ensure on-time, high-quality deployments.
- Balance speed with stability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Engineers.Build a strong performance culture with clear expectations, regular feedback, and accountability.
- Address underperformance decisively through coaching first and make tough calls when needed.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Define and enforce software development lifecycle best practices.
- Implement and improve:
- Code review standards
- Automated testing
- Release management
- Ensure engineering documentation is clear, current, and accessible.
- Ensure systems comply with Secure authentication and authorization
- Ensure to audit logging and monitoring
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit teams to address findings promptly.
- Provide technical input into business decisions, timelines, and feasibility.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Master’s degree is an advantage
- Minimum 5years experience in software engineering
- At least 3years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience building and scaling fintech,payments, or regulated platforms
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience working with high-availability, transaction-heavy systems
Technical Competencies
- Strong system design and architectural skills
- Deep understanding of APIs, databases, and distributed systems
- Experience with DevOps and cloud-native architectures
- Strong understanding of security best practices and data protection principles
