Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic, goal-oriented, and experienced Sales Representative – Modern Trade (MT) to represent our portfolio of imported alcohol brands in the Ghanaian market. Based in Accra and reporting directly to the Country Manager, the ideal candidate will manage relationships with modern retail outlets, drive sales performance, and execute trade and visibility initiatives in alignment with brand strategy and local market dynamics.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Modern Trade Sales & Account Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with modern trade accounts including supermarkets, hypermarkets, and retail chains.
  • Negotiate listings, pricing, visibility agreements, and activation calendars with key accounts.
  • Monitor sell-in and sell-out data and ensure optimum stock levels at the store level.


Sales Targets & Business Growth

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual volume and value sales targets.
  • Identify and develop new accounts within the modern trade segment.
  • Work closely with the Country Manager to align sales efforts with business goals and strategic priorities.


Brand Execution & Visibility

  •  Implement in-store merchandising and branding guidelines for all outlets.
  • Drive brand visibility through shelf execution, promotions, tastings, and POS placement.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team on trade activation campaigns.


Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Gather market intelligence on pricing, competitor activities, and customer feedback.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on sales performance, outlet coverage, and promotional activities to the Country Manager.
  • Support forecasting and assist in planning product launches and promotional calendars.


Compliance & Representation

  • Ensure all in-store activities and sales practices comply with company standards and local alcohol regulations.
  • Uphold the image and values of the company and act as a brand ambassador in the market.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in FMCG or alcoholic beverage sales, preferably in the modern trade channel.
  • Experience working with imported or premium brands is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ghanaian retail and distribution landscape, especially in Accra.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Valid Ghanaian driver’s license and willingness to travel within Accra and surrounding regions.
