Overview
Datacom, under the LMI Digital Subsidiary, is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Officer to drive the commercialization and customer acquisition efforts of our Fiber-to-Hostels Project at KNUST. The ideal candidate will be based in Kumasi and will spearhead sales and customer relationship management within the KNUST campus and surrounding areas. This role requires a self-motivated individual with deep sales acumen, strong interpersonal skills, and a keen understanding of the ISP and technology industry.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Drive direct sales of Datacom’s fiber internet packages to students across all partnered hostels at KNUST.
- Execute campus-based sales strategies to onboard new hostels, users and convert leads into paying customers.
- Conduct product demonstrations, customer sensitizations, and participate in roadshows and activations.
- Maintain active communication with student ambassadors to support sales outreach and awareness creation.
- Identify, engage, and convert early adopters through targeted engagements and innovative selling tactics.
- Manage and update a live database of leads, prospects, and sales conversions on CRM tools.
- Ensure excellent after-sales support and relationship management to drive retention.
- Provide weekly reports on sales performance, market feedback, and customer insights.
- Liaise with the technical and marketing teams to support rollout campaigns and service enhancements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Monthly revenue targets from hostel sales.
- Number of student users onboarded and retained.
- Percentage growth in subscriber base across partner hostels.
- Conversion rate from leads to paid subscriptions.
- Customer satisfaction and feedback scores.
- Effectiveness of on-campus activations and engagement events.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, ICT, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience in the ISP, telecoms, or technology sector, preferably with a proven track record in B2C or student-market sales.
- Familiarity with the Kumasi and KNUST student landscape is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, digital sales platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of broadband services, wireless solutions, and internet usage trends among youth.
