Regional Accountant

The
Regional Accountant will be responsible for managing financial operations across assigned cocoa-buying districts in Ghana. The role involves supporting the Regional Manager in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, compliance with company policies, and strong internal controls.
The position will oversee approximately four districts, working closely with Franchise Holders and regional teams to monitor profitability, reconcile accounts, audit financial records, track cocoa movements, and ensure accurate reporting through systems such as SAP and EMPOWER.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze district and regional financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements and overhead analysis.
• Manage collections, payments, reconciliations, and bank account reviews.
• Support risk assessments, internal controls, compliance activities, and audit processes.
• Monitor cocoa dispatches, stock movements, port expenses, losses, and related operational costs.
• Conduct field visits, stock counts, and audits to verify documentation and financial accuracy.
• Review Franchise Holder records and ensure accurate system entries in EMPOWER/SAP.
• Provide timely reports and support implementation of audit recommendations.
  

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting systems such as SAP or SAGE is an advantage.
• Audit experience and knowledge of cocoa/agriculture operations are preferred.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, conduct field visits, and operate within rural communities.
