Job descriptions & requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a risk-based internal audit plan.
- Conduct branch, departmental, financial, operational, and systems audits.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management systems.
- Identify control weaknesses, irregularities, and potential areas of financial or operational risk.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Follow up on management's implementation of audit recommendations.
- Report significant audit findings to management and the Board.
- Assess compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Support investigations into suspected irregularities where required.
- Promote continuous improvement in internal controls and governance.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related discipline.
- ICAG, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
- 5–7 years' audit experience, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of auditing, internal controls, risk management, and financial processes.
- High level of integrity, independence, and attention to detail.
