Role Description The Internal Audit Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi. This role supports the internal audit function by assisting in planning and executing audit reviews of financial, operational, and compliance processes. Day-to-day tasks include gathering and analyzing data, verifying documentation, testing internal controls, and preparing clear workpapers and audit reports. The Internal Audit Assistant will help identify control gaps, process inefficiencies, and potential risks, and collaborate with departments to follow up on audit recommendations. The role also involves maintaining accurate audit records, supporting regulatory and corporate compliance initiatives, and contributing to continuous improvement of hotel policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial and operational data accurately.
  • Candidates should possess skills in documentation review, record-keeping, and attention to detail for thorough audit testing and reporting.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency in basic accounting principles, internal control concepts, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present audit findings clearly.
  • Candidates should possess good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Candidates should ideally have a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel and Word) and comfortable working with hotel management or ERP systems.
  • Previous internship or work experience in audit, finance, or hospitality operations is an added advantage, as well as familiarity with hospitality industry standards and regulations.
